Original PDFs, mapping versions, and private answers

PaperPorter stores the original PDF unchanged, its source hash, and each immutable mapping version. Valid mappings also retain an editable PDF and sample filled PDF.

What is retained?

• Original PDF bytes and SHA-256 provenance.
• Mapping JSON, page destinations, conditions, and review status.
• Editable and sample PDFs when mapping and fill checks pass.
• Application answers, revision, and generated PDF artifacts.

Reviews create new versions. Existing applications keep their original template version. Invalid drafts retain the original and mapping, but withhold editable output until checks pass.

Who can access documents?

Public pages expose official source links and approved blank templates. Private uploads, answers, and generated documents require the owner's identity or a temporary scoped download link. Only an administrator can promote an approved blank template to the shared catalog.

Conversion providers

Conversion uses OpenAI or Cloudflare Workers AI, with Cloudflare storage. Do not include completed personal information in a PDF intended for a public blank-template catalog. See tool limits.
